Looking for a distraction? Music is a great way to escape reality for a bit. Apple Music is offering two new options to keep up with and discover new music you might enjoy.

Music Brings You Together

Music can still bring people together, even if COVID-19 keeps us physically apart. Apple Music’s new “Come Together” tab offers playlists that include a wide variety of music, videos and selections from Beats 1 Radio.

Playlists are organized according to mood and genre. You can also tap into various sounds, including: “Isolation Icebreakers, Home-School-Strumentals and the Social Distancing Social Club.”

Look for these playlists today!

Discover New Sounds

If you want to discover new music to brighten up your socially distant days, but are too busy to go looking for it, you are in luck!

Apple is introducing new notifications in the Apple Music app. The notifications will provide updates about new albums, EPs and videos from your favorite artists.

You can even choose to only receive notifications from a group of artists you select, and you can turn these in-app notifications on or off for all artists that you follow. If an artist you like releases something new, Apple Music will let you know about the release right in the app.

The update is rolling out to users. Or, you can follow these instructions to turn the feature on today:

Go to the account setting within the Apple Music app.

  1. On iPhone, open the Music app.

  2. Tap on the For You tab.

  3. Tap on your profile picture at the top right of the app.

  4. Tap on the Notifications menu.

  5. Turn the Show in Library toggle on.

  Happy listening!
